A Season for Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving so of course I have been thinking of all of my blessings and all the things I have to be thankful for. There are too many to list but there are some things I need to say...I am thankful to my husband for being so patient as I try to learn to be a better wife. I am thankful for my family, its good to know they will always be there. Of course you never really know how much your parents do for you until you move out and realize you had no idea of everything they did, I am sure once I have kids I will be even more amazed. I am so thankful for all the time and love my parents gave me. I am thankful that I have a home, I am thankful that Derek and I both are able to have jobs and work hard to be able to afford all that we need. I am thankful for my education, I feel so lucky to be able to learn so much. I am thankful for my friends and their support, its funny how just talking with an old friend can make your whole day different. Most importantly, I am thankful for the gospel, I know much of my life would be different with out it and I am so happy to have continual peace and comfort because of it. I am so blessed!

I have so many memories of thanksgiving with my cousins at our grandparents. I remember during the prayer we would all be laughing our heads off. There is something about trying to keep 20 kids under 10 quiet, not possible. We would always be trying to put food in people's drinks with out them noticing. I also remember having to eat weird things like yams and beats, things we never ate any other time of year. No wonder we wouldn't try them! But really the best part about thanksgiving is getting together with all of your family, and remembering the things that are most important in our lives.

Dereks family has a thanksgiving tradition to go into the mountains and cut down your Christmas tree. We celebrated early with his family this year. Our tree is sort of Charlie Brownish, but its the memory that counts right! Derek apparently is making it his tradition to wear his cowboy hat, who knows? Oh yes, both the 4 runner and the dog had to be in the picture, our most prized possessions.
